Junior Cricket
Junior Cricket (11-15yrs)
W&SCC run mixed (boys and girls) hard ball cricket for U11, U13 and U15 age groups. We focus on developing skills specific to the game of cricket, in a welcoming, inclusive and fun environment. Girls have the choice of joining our dedicated girls section (Warriors), as well as playing with the mixed juniors.
We start indoor nets locally in mid-January, transfering to our own wonderful outdoor nets in late April. Matches are then played against other local clubs and schools, both home on The Green and away.
We welcome kids of all abilities, from novices, to those who have gone through both the All Stars and Dynamos programmes. Equipment is provided and the kids are coached by ECB qualified and DBS checked coaches.
When, Where & Joining
We start the year with winter nets from mid-January at a local private school facility.
Outdoor training is held on Saturday mornings on The Green in Warborough (or in our fabulous outdoor nets) for all age groups and starts in April. Matches start in early May and take place on Sunday mornings (U11s), Thursday evenings (U13s) and Monday evenings (U15s). Games normally last a couple of hours or so.
We provide kit if kids don’t have their own.

We divide the juniors into three age groups…
U11s are coached by Alan Gregory (L) - Alan has ECB Level 2 Core coaching and has two kids at the club - where he’s been since 2019
U13s are coached by Paul Baker (C) - Paul has ECB Level 2 Core coaching, is a parent and is chair of our junior section.
U15s are coached by Baz Stokes (R) - Baz had ECB Level 2 coaching and has been a coach at the club since 2022
