Nets

For many W&SCC Players, the rhythm of the summer is determined by Thursday evening nets, and Sunday afternoon games.

In 2018 we installed two state-of-the-art nets for use by members, free of charge. Thursday nets are informal and fun, and we also have a new bowling machine which gets put to good use! Bowlers can hone their skills against our top-order batsmen, and everyone can catch up on the news of the week.

Matches & Fixtures

We play on The Green on Sundays and games are generally scheduled to start in the afternoon around 2pm. We usually play ‘timed’ matches, with a delicious and leisurely tea taken between innings.

Skill, sportsmanship and mutual respect are the typical ingredients for a Sunday game of cricket at Warborough. Sporting declarations are the norm, resulting in several thrilling finishes every season.

Our opponents are an interesting mixture of wandering and touring sides from London and the Home Counties…so expect some interesting displays of caps and jumpers!

Junior Coaching

A thriving Junior Section provides cricket for children aged 5 to 15 from April to July.

We run both ECB programmes designed to bring children into cricket: All-Stars Cricket, targeted at 5-8 year olds, and Dynamos Cricket for 8-11 year olds that are new to the sport. We're conscious that female participation in cricket needs to grow and are keen to attract girls into the sport.

For children that have progressed to hard ball cricket, we offer coaching in U11, U13 and U15 age groups with each group being led by ECB qualified - and DBS checked - coaches.
